Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BEF Clips ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the website at befclips.com and the related automated highlight-clipping service (the "Service"). We are the controller of the information described below. Contact: contact@befclips.com.
1. Information we process
- Public Twitch stream data. We read publicly available information about livestreams — such as channel name, game/category, viewer counts, and the aggregate rate of chat activity. We use chat only as an anonymous, aggregate signal (for example, messages per minute) to detect notable moments; we do not build profiles of individual viewers, and we do not retain individual chat messages as a long-term record.
- Chat quotes shown on this site. Alongside a detected moment we may display a small number of public Twitch chat messages from around that moment, together with the sending account's public Twitch username, to illustrate how chat reacted. Messages are filtered automatically before display, they are only ever taken from public channels, and they are removed when the underlying clip data ages out (within about seven days). If you would like a quote or username removed sooner, contact us at the address in section 8 and we will remove it.
- Video clips. We record short clips of public broadcasts for the purpose of creating and publishing highlight content.
- Connected publishing accounts. If the operator connects a TikTok or YouTube account to publish clips, we store the authorization tokens that platform issues (via its official OAuth flow) so that we can post content to that account. We request only the permission scopes needed to upload/publish videos, and we do not use those tokens to access private data beyond that purpose.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from Twitch viewers, and the Service is not directed to children.
2. How we use information
- To detect highlight moments and create clips from public streams.
- To reformat and publish clips to connected social platforms (TikTok, YouTube).
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
3. How information is shared
- Published clips are public. Clips we post are distributed publicly on TikTok and YouTube and become subject to those platforms' handling of the content.
- Service providers. We use a limited set of providers to run the Service — including Twitch (source data), TikTok and YouTube (publishing), and an email delivery provider for our own correspondence. Each processes information only as needed to provide its function.
- We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Data retention
Clips and operational metrics are retained only as long as needed for the Service and are subject to routine cleanup; source clips and stream data are removed on a rolling basis. Authorization tokens are kept until the connection is removed or revoked.
5. Security
Information is stored on access-controlled servers and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold.
6. Your choices and rights
- Streamers / rights holders: you can request removal of a clip of your content at any time by contacting us.
- Connected accounts: you can revoke our access at any time from your TikTok or YouTube account settings, which invalidates the stored tokens.
- You may contact us to ask what information we hold and to request its deletion.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
